Do I have to be flexible to do yoga?

Why are we so obsessed with being flexible? I'm not flexible, I can't do yoga is the number one response when you ask if they've ever been to a yoga class.

It's about so much more than being able to put your leg behind your head, it truly is about what you learn along the way. I've seen so many students, myself included that could barely touch their knees when they first arrived on the mat. Along the way I could eventually touch my toes, but I also learned self confidence, the importance of breath and learning to trust what my body was telling me. I also found a way to help me process grief, lifelong friends and I found me.

The mat is a place to explore all of you, whether you're flexible or not. Bring your inflexible body and flexible mind and see what you discover.
